Projektbeschreibung

The Institute of Pharmacy at the University of Tübingen (Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacy; headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Miriam M. Cortese-Krott) invites applications for the position of a

Postdoctoral Researcher (Research Associate) (m/f/d, TV-L 13, 100%)

fixed-term for 2 years, with the possibility of extension, to be filled.

The group's research focus is on the metabolic reprogramming of endothelial cells in specialized tissue compartments – in particular the bone marrow niche and the liver – and how this reprogramming changes in disease. We combine vascular and redox biology approaches with state-of-the-art metabolic analytics to understand how endothelial cells adapt their metabolism to the local tissue niche, and how this adaptation is disrupted in cardiovascular and metabolic disease. We publish in high-ranking journals such as Circulation, Nature Communications, Redox Biology and Pharmacological Reviews. The lab is furthermore supported by competitive third-party funding.

We are looking for an individual with an excellent research track record and a very strong publication record who wants to independently drive forward a research project in this field.

Suitable candidates will hold an excellent doctorate and have relevant, high-ranking scientific publications. Applicants should be highly motivated, enjoy independent scientific work and be able to integrate well into our international team. You can look forward to an excellent research environment, for which the following profile qualifies you:

  • An excellent doctorate in pharmacy, biochemistry, molecular medicine or a comparable natural science field
  • A demonstrated, very strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong interest in vascular biology and the metabolic reprogramming of endothelial cells in health and disease
  • Excellent English language skills (at least level B2/C1)
  • Pharmacist license (Approbation) preferred
  • Experience in Teaching at the Life Science Faculty (preferred)

We offer an established and excellent research environment with a broad methodological spectrum, a collegial and respectful working atmosphere, numerous scientific collaborations, comprehensive support in planning your academic career, and exciting opportunities for (co-)supervising doctoral candidates and shaping your own research projects.

Severely disabled applicants will be given preference in the case of equal qualification. Tübingen University is committed to equal opportunities and diversity and actively promotes gender equality. The University aims to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching and therefore particularly encourages qualified women scientists to apply.

Please send your application with the usual documents (cover letter, CV, certificates, 3 recommendation letters) by 15 September 2026 in electronic form (as a single PDF file) to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Miriam Cortese-Krott (miriam.cortese-krott@uni-tuebingen.de), quoting the reference number Postdoc/Stoffwechsel/Pharmakologie.

The appointment will be made by the Central Administration (Zentrale Verwaltung).
