Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/75%to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited for three years.

The openings target the development, implementation and application of X-ray optics, biomolecular structure analysis, and new imaging methods exploiting partially coherent X-ray radiation both at synchrotron/FEL and laboratory µCT sources. The focus can be either on X-ray optical physics, instrumentation, diffraction data analysis and computational imaging, and/or application benchmarks in soft matter physics and biophysics.

As a successful candidate you should hold a very good Master’s degree (or equivalent) in physics or in a closely related field, and show high potential and motivation for interdisciplinary research. Knowledge and experience in X-ray and medical physics, computational and numerical skills, or experience in laboratory instrumentation/experiment is highly appreciated, but not expected at the start.
