Description du projet

About the role

We are looking for a talented Research Assistant to work on an exciting project exploring the underlying cause of the hepatotoxicity induced by an antibody drug conjugate Inotuzumab Ozogamicin, used to treat leukaemia. You will be working in Associate Professor Richard Burt’s laboratory, on a project exploring the hypothesis that Inotuzumab Ozogamicin causes hepatotoxicity through endothelial cell activation and damage. The post is funded by the Medical Research Foundation.

What you would be doing

You will work closely with a post-doctoral research associate and be trained in techniques including endothelial cell culture, ‘mini-liver’ culture models, flow cytometry, single cell and bulk RNA Sequencing and transgenic mouse models of leukaemia.

What we are looking for

You should have a first/masters degree (or equivalent) in Biology, or a related discipline. You should have experience of working in a laboratory research environment and conducting laboratory techniques, including multi colour flow cytometry and experience in sequencing methods. Prior experience of animal work is desirable, but not essential.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity.
  • Grow your career: gain access to Imperial’s sector-leading dedicated career support for researchers as well as opportunities for promotion and progression.
  • Sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 43 days off a year and generous pension schemes).
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.

Further information

This is a full-time, fixed-term post until 15 July 2029, with potential for an extension to November 2029 dependent on funding.

If you have any further details about the role, please contact Dr Richard Burt (r.burt@imperial.ac.uk) or Dr Penny Sparkes (p.sparkes@imperial.ac.uk).
