Your tasks
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on and contribute to the further development of lithium-metal batteries as part of an international team of leading German and US scientists.
- Perform experimental investigations of gas evolution in lithium-metal batteries under controlled heating conditions.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses of reaction products to identify reaction mechanisms and the initial heat sources preceding potential thermal runaway.
- Collaborate closely with experimental and simulation partners in an interdisciplinary research environment, including research stays abroad.
- Identify dominant reaction mechanisms and process networks through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Contribute directly to improving the safety and stability of lithium-metal batteries.
- Publish research results in scientific journals and project reports.
- Present research findings at national and international scientific conferences.
- Opportunity to pursue a PhD.
Your profile
- Excellent Master´s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of electrochemistry, measurement technology, and/or analytical methods
- Strong enthusiasm for scientific research and interdisciplinary problem-solving
- Strong interest in battery technology
- Experience with chemical analysis is an advantage
- High level of initiative, creativity, and the ability to work independently
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Good written and spoken German and English language skills
