Your tasks

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on and contribute to the further development of lithium-metal batteries as part of an international team of leading German and US scientists.
  • Perform experimental investigations of gas evolution in lithium-metal batteries under controlled heating conditions.
  • Conduct post-mortem analyses of reaction products to identify reaction mechanisms and the initial heat sources preceding potential thermal runaway.
  • Collaborate closely with experimental and simulation partners in an interdisciplinary research environment, including research stays abroad.
  • Identify dominant reaction mechanisms and process networks through interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Contribute directly to improving the safety and stability of lithium-metal batteries.
  • Publish research results in scientific journals and project reports.
  • Present research findings at national and international scientific conferences.
  • Opportunity to pursue a PhD.

Your profile

  • Excellent Master´s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of electrochemistry, measurement technology, and/or analytical methods
  • Strong enthusiasm for scientific research and interdisciplinary problem-solving
  • Strong interest in battery technology
  • Experience with chemical analysis is an advantage
  • High level of initiative, creativity, and the ability to work independently
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Good written and spoken German and English language skills
