ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MATHEMATICS Department of Decision Sciences, Bocconi University, Milan, Italy Description The Department of Decision Sciences of Bocconi University in Milan, invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Mathematical Analysis, with a focus on one of the topical modern areas, including e.g. partial differential equations, calculus of variations and geometric measure theory, geometric analysis and Riemannian geometry, dynamical systems, harmonic and stochastic analysis, and possibly their applications, in particular in economics, optimization, control and machine learning. The appointment will begin in Fall 2027. The Department of Decision Sciences is an amazingly vibrant academic community in the fields of Mathematical Analysis, Statistics, and Theoretical Economics, with strong interactions with outstanding research groups in Optimization, Machine Learning, and Computing Sciences. Qualifications Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. and demonstrate high research potential. Job information Successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong publication record, contribute to the academic life of the department, and be effective teachers both at the undergraduate and graduate level, in particular for the new BSc program in Mathematical and Computing Sciences for Artificial Intelligence. Compensation and teaching load will be competitive with other top European Schools. The tenure track will run for up to eight years (with one paid sabbatical year). There is the possibility of promotion to a tenured position by the end of that period or before.
