The School of Arts at Lancaster University is seeking to develop its highly ranked programmes with the appointment of a new Lecturer in Media & Cultural Studies. This is a teaching and research position. This is a 1.0 FTE role.
You will pursue research leading to outputs at a level appropriate for submission to future Research Excellence Framework exercises. You will be encouraged to develop new research collaborations both with colleagues at Lancaster and also with colleagues outside the University, which will lead to externally funded research grants.
We welcome applications from candidates whose research could link with and add to the existing strengths in the Media and Film subject group, such as global and transnational media studies; media industries and production; social media analysis; screen studies, celebrity culture; fan studies; media and cultural theory; feminist, queer, and decolonial media studies; and mediated social movements.
In particular, we would welcome applicants whose teaching and research addresses global media, media industries, and/or digital methods in support of empirical studies on digital culture and popular culture.
The role involves producing excellent research-led teaching and contributing to the delivery of a range of modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and participating in the administration of teaching, research, and public engagement.
We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
