Job description

The University of Portsmouth is a global employer of choice where exceptional people create, share and apply knowledge that makes a difference.

Experience the pride of being part of a select group – one of only four universities in the south-east of England to achieve a prestigious Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework. Additionally, we proudly rank among the top 140 universities globally in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.

Ambition, Responsibility and Openness drive our every endeavour. Join our esteemed institution with a proven track record of success, and where dedication to excellence is key. We want people to make their mark in a professional community that truly values people, innovation, and achievement.

The Role:
To engage in teaching, scholarship, research and innovation by undertaking scholarship, teaching, tutorial and practical work, supervision and the development of learning activities as part of a team in line with School’s objectives and make a significant contribution to the TEF profile of the School.

Undertake the duties of the ITT Course Leader and act as a module leader to ensure student needs and expectations are met.

This position is working on-site, as most of the role is student facing and requires being on campus.

The interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 18 November.

The assessment process consists of a micro-teach that will take place in the morning followed by interviews in the afternoon. You will prepare and deliver a micro-teach (workshop) to a small group. Please note this is a two-stage process and you must pass the micro-teach assessment to progress to the interview stage. More details will be sent to you prior to the interview date regarding what to prepare.

This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 29 October 2027.

For internal candidates it may be possible to apply for this role under the Secondment Policy. If you wish to apply as a secondee, you must have approval of your line manager in advance of submitting your application form.
