Reference no.: 2026/172. The working group of “Sociology – Social Movements” as part of the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” invites applications for a postdoctoral position for a duration of up to 24 months starting in November 2026.

The working group of “Sociology – Social Movements” led by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Koos investigates the determinants and consequences of political protest, civic engagement and solidarity, including forms of helping and altruistic behavior. We study this in the context of social problems, such as inequality,climate change or threats to democracy, often from an international comparative perspective.
