Its largest campus is at Clayton in Melbourne's south-east, with further Australian campuses at Caulfield, Peninsula and Parkville, and a campus in Malaysia. Monash is a member of the Group of Eight, Australia's association of leading research-intensive universities. Its research is strong in medicine, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, biomedicine and the social sciences, and it hosts major institutes including the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute.
