The Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam is recruiting a PhD candidate for a Clinical Physicist (AIOS KF Radiotherapy) position. Over four years, you will be trained to become a fully qualified clinical physicist under the OKF standards, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high‑quality radiation therapy for cancer patients. Your role will involve developing and implementing new treatment techniques and equipment, collaborating with doctors and laboratory staff on project‑based innovations, and conducting clinical research. Training will take place across several Dutch radiotherapy departments, including Haaglanden Medical Center, Holland Proton Therapy Center, and Leiden University Medical Center.

Descrizione del progetto
Als klinisch fysicus in de radiotherapie ben je in een multidisciplinair team verantwoordelijk voor een veilige hoogkwalitatieve behandeling van kanker met straling. Daarnaast speelt de klinisch fysicus een belangrijke rol in wetenschappelijk onderzoek en in de continue innovatie van moderne bestralingstechnieken. Nederland loopt in dit opzicht voorop in Europa. In de functie van klinisch fysicus in opleiding word je in vier jaar opgeleid tot klinisch fysicus conform de opleidingseisen van de stichting OKF. Je ervaart hierbij de dynamiek waarmee het werk gepaard kan gaan en de tijdsdruk waaronder soms belangrijke beslissingen genomen moeten worden. Je levert een bijdrage aan de vernieuwing van behandelmethoden en nieuwe apparatuur door deze in projectvorm met artsen en laboranten voor te bereiden, uit te werken, te implementeren en evalueren. Tevens voer je klinisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek uit. Een deel van de opleiding zal plaatsvinden op de afdelingen Radiotherapie van het Haaglanden Medisch Centrum en van Holland Protonen Therapie Centrum of het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum.
