The position is within the Quantum Matter Theory research program, with research focusing on theory of quantum condensed matter, where quantum mechanical effects in a prominent way determine the properties. The research activities span many contemporary parts of physics, such as unconventional superconductivity, topological matter, non-equilibrium phenomena in nanosystems, strongly correlated systems, and quantum information. The project will be carried out in the research group of Prof. Annica Black-Schaffer, currently consisting of 15 Ph.D. students and postdocs. Research area and duties: We are looking for an ambitious and motivated postdoc in quantum matter theory for work combining unconventional superconductivity and quantum geometry. The work will involve both numerical simulations and analytical work. The postdoc candidate is expected work both independently and in collaboration with other group members and external collaborators.
Requirements: Ph.D. degree in physics or closely related subject. The Ph.D. degree must have been obtained at the start of the employment and no more than three years prior to the application deadline, however, periods of e.g. parental or sick leave may be deducted from this three-year period. The applicant should have a strong research background in theory of unconventional superconductivity and quantum geometry applied to condensed matter systems. Fluency in both written and spoken English is a requirement.
Additional qualifications: We are searching for a postdoc candidate how is responsible, self-motivated, and has demonstrated independence in research, and at the same time works well in a research group. Emphasis will be therefore be placed on personal abilities, including independence, motivation, as well good organizational and collaborative skills. Emphasis will also be placed on the ability to publish scientific work in high-quality journals and to give presentations at scientific meetings. A combination of analytical and numerical skills is advantageous. Pervious postdoc experience is advantageous. Previous experience working on quantum geometric aspects of superconductors is also advantageous.
