With more than 27,000 students it is one of the largest institutions of higher… Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Saxion) is a Dutch university of applied sciences with three campuses in the east of the Netherlands, in Enschede, Deventer and Apeldoorn. With more than 27,000 students it is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the country, offering over a hundred programmes in fields including archaeology, finance, law, engineering, hospitality, business, IT, broadcasting, health and digital media, at bachelor's and master's level. Saxion's profile is "living technology": the application of technology in and for society, and the question what innovations mean for the professions its students will enter. Its practice-oriented research is organised in research groups and centres led by professors of applied sciences (lectoren), on themes such as smart industry and robotics, sustainable energy and the circular economy, health and wellbeing technology, safety and security, hospitality and the creative economy, and it works closely with Twente's regional industry and with the University of Twente.
